If You're Flying

Aspen is accessible from the following airports:

The Aspen/Pitkin County Airport serves Aspen, Snowmass Village, and the surrounding Roaring Fork Valley. Flying directly into Aspen is usually the most expensive option, but you won't have to arrange additional shuttle service or a rental car to get here. The local airport offers numerous flights each day to and from Denver International Airport and many direct flights to and from such cities as:

  • Austin
  • Chicago
  • Dallas/Fort Worth
  • Houston
  • Los Angeles
  • San Francisco
  • And more during the winter ski season

If you fly into one of the nearby airports instead, direct buses and shuttles are available to get you to Aspen. Upon arrival at the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport, local taxi services will transport you to your final destination. For those arriving via charter flights, taxis are also available from the private terminal just above the main airport terminal.

If you're considering renting a car, it's advisable to make your reservation when you book your flight due to high demand.

If You're Driving

If you're coming from Grand Junction, use Interstate 70 (I-70) to connect to Colorado Highway 82 at the Glenwood Springs exit to reach Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley.

If you're coming from Denver, you can also connect to Highway 82 at the Copper Mountain exit (approx 80 miles east of Glenwood Springs). However, please note that Independence Pass, located just east of Aspen, is closed during winter. So, the only way to access Highway 82 during this period is through the Glenwood Springs exit.
