Community Support Organizations in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley

Here's a list of some of our generous valley's local community support and volunteer organizations.

Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers

This organization encourages individuals to preserve the natural lands by volunteering their time and effort. They collaborate with the Aspen Chamber Resort Association to make donations to other organizations focused on conservation efforts, such as the Independence Pass Foundation.

Aspen Thrift Shop

Run entirely by volunteers; this organization sells donated goods to fund nonprofit organizations. They also focus on recycling to reduce landfill waste and provide a space for community members to find affordable items. Aspen Valley Land Trust

This organization works to conserve land in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys. They support working ranches and farms, water, wildlife, outdoor education, and recreation. They encourage volunteers to support their efforts by helping build and restore trails, supporting special events, or promoting them on social media.

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES)

ACES is a nonprofit environmental science education organization that provides innovative and immersive programming for all ages. Their programs reach over 140,000 individuals every year. ACES works with land trusts, public agencies, and other nonprofits to promote education about environmental responsibility.

Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Council

Volunteer advisory board that advocates for and oversees a first-rate Nordic skiing experience and extensive trail system connected to the Roaring Fork Valley community hubs. They accept donations to support special trail projects to improve the overall skiing experience.

The Farm Collaborative

This organization connects children and the community to nature through farming and food. They inspire the next generation to tackle climate change effects while bringing the community together. They facilitate carbon capture through integrated farming and localizing the food economy. They also help other communities in doing the same. Crystal Valley Environmental Protection Association (CVEPA)

Founded in 1972 to protect the natural environment and its scenic resources, CVEPA is a government and industry watchdog advocating for sound environmental sound practices. The association is known for opposing projects that could cause ecological damage, and they work to maintain the soundness of the ecosystems within and around the Crystal River watershed.

Buddy Program

Wheeler Opera House:

The Wheeler Opera House is a historic performing arts venue in Aspen, Colorado. Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club (AVSC)
